WATERWELLSFORAFRICA 2014 x BRITTANY

A 9 year old girl from Texas heard about water wells for africa woking in Malawi and felt compelled to raise money for them. Brittany simply began a pie making campaign, selling out after friends and family passed the word around. She has raised over $12,000.00 selling pies/cakes at Thanksgiving time in 2013. This is her well that was dedicated to her on behalf of WWFA while we were in Malawi Africa this past summer. Her heartfelt concern for the people of Africa is truly inspirational. Be thankful for wherever you are at and do something, the smallest things become bigger things. Hand to God promise you that.

Enjoy!

I SEE  Y O U

I wake up some mornings
thank God not as often as I used to
slow and heavy from dreams with you
you’ve found a way back in
once again my long lost friend
funny to see that after all these years*I miss you the same

So I drag myself to the corner café
and for a second I see you there
like in the good old days
and I wonder what you’re doing ?
what are you up to these days ?
I sometimes wish you would call me
buth then I wouldn’t know what to say

and I see you,in every cab that goes by, in the strangers at every cross road, in every bar

it takes a glass or two
for it to settle down
for your shadows to stop following me
around
I find myself walking back
to all the places we knew
dreaming and wishing
to somehow run into you

And of course I wonder
does it happen to you ?
Does my ghost ever come looking for you ?

and I see you….

THE ROSERONSARD, 1550. See, Mignonne, hath not the Rose, That this morning did unclose Her purple mantle to the light, Lost, before the day be dead, The glory of her raiment red, Her colour, bright as yours is bright? Ah, Mignonne, in how few hours, The petals of her purple flowers All have faded, fallen, died; Sad Nature, mother ruinous, That seest thy fair child perish thus 'Twixt matin song and even tide. Hear me, my darling, speaking sooth, Gather the fleet flower of your youth, Take ye your pleasure at the best; Be merry ere your beauty flit, For length of days will tarnish it Like roses that were loveliest.

THE ROSE
RONSARD, 1550.

See, Mignonne, hath not the Rose,
That this morning did unclose
Her purple mantle to the light,
Lost, before the day be dead,
The glory of her raiment red,
Her colour, bright as yours is bright?

Ah, Mignonne, in how few hours,
The petals of her purple flowers
All have faded, fallen, died;
Sad Nature, mother ruinous,
That seest thy fair child perish thus
'Twixt matin song and even tide.

Hear me, my darling, speaking sooth,
Gather the fleet flower of your youth,
Take ye your pleasure at the best;
Be merry ere your beauty flit,
For length of days will tarnish it
Like roses that were loveliest.
